Oswestry was the first University of the Third Age group to be formed Shropshire Majorie Marsden was elected to be Chairman at the first "U3A" meeting held on the 15th November 1990 with 24 people present |
The first meeting of twelve people to discuss the formation of the Oswestry U3A was arranged for the 22nd May 1990 under the direction of Clair Cartlidge who was the Librarian at the town's library. |
