Industrial Heritage

Held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 10.00am

This Group got started on 23^rd August 2007 with an inaugural meeting at which we decided to each research a topic of interest, mainly local, to present to the group.  (For those without computers or PowerPoint, IT help is readily forthcoming.)  We meet on the 3^rd Thursday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at usually at my house. 

Meetings include visits to Oswestry Library Local History Department, Ellesmere Port Boat Museum and Minera Mining Museum, Wrexham.  Members’ presentations include the Textiles Industry in Newtown, Coal Mining in Trefonen, Medieval Farming, local pottery including Buckley Ware and the Quarry and Wharf at Llanymynech.
